Create a Read-only User for D365

1. Go into System administration > Security > Security configuration

2. Click Create new to create a new role, give it a name

3. Locate your role in the list and look for Duties on the right, under References section. (Please note, this is NOT the tab named Duties, it is located in Roles tab in your role details)
4. Click Add references. A dialog box will appear on the right named Select duties

5. In the Name column, apply a filter to list only duties that include word “Inquir“. (There are duties named Inquire and Inquiry so use “Inquir“)

6. Select ALL the duties after filter is complete

7. Click OK

8. Go to the Unpublished objects tab, locate the role you created, select it by adding a tick on the left of the line and click Publish selection

9. You can now assign this role to users that you want

NB: If you want a user to have read-only privilege in some legal entities then you should click Assign organizations after you add the role to that user and select legal entities there.
