Setting Up 2FA for Microsoft Account

 

      1. Start by opening Microsoft Edge web browser and go to https://portal.office365.com/

      2. Enter your email address and password and click Sign In

      3. Click Next

      4. Change country to United Kingdom (+44), enter your mobile number, click Next

      5. Enter the 6-digit code received by SMS and click Next

      6. Click Next then click Done

      7. Click Yes to Stay Signed In

      8. Dismiss any information nag screens

      9. Click the circled username initials at the top right then click View Account

      10. Click the UPDATE INFO link in the Security Info box

      11. Click the + Add sign-in method link

      12. Choose Authenticator App then click Add

      13. DO NOT CLICK THE NEXT BUTTON – instead, click the I want to use a different authenticator app link 

      14. Click Next

      15. On the mobile phone, open the Google Authenticator app, touch the + PLUS symbol, touch Scan QR Code

      16. Scan the QR Code shown on screen then enter the 6-digit code shown in Google Authenticator app

      17. Click Next

      18. A confirmation message will be displayed
